I swear to god I've been working on this for like 5 years.
I had kind of a weird, isolated childhood, but the art and fiction surrounding me provided a sorely needed sense of meaning, a call to action, and ultimately, with a place of belonging. I may have been alone, I may have been empty, or I may have been disillusioned in one way or another, but seeing the humanity seep through in different mediums gave me some feeling of connection with mankind, and with the world around me.
So because of that, it was really no surprise that I would find my true purpose in making similar works of art myself. I knew by 2020, inspired by various indie games that I wanted to make one of my own, but aside from that, my intentions were somewhat muddy until I put together a plan, a goal for me to accomplish in the long run. I conceptualized a multimedia company specializing in the different art forms I loved, focused on providing the best, highest quality, and most human works in each field the company specialized in. And after a couple of months of brainstorming, I came up with the name: Emerald Estoc Entertainment. Why?
I dunno man like it sounded cool I guess.
So you might wonder by this point, "Why did it take you so long to get this thing public?", and that's a great question. In all fairness, I was still a kid up until pretty recently, but aside from that, I legitimately just haven't had anything to show for it yet (and I still don't really I'm just sick of this site not being up yet). While Emerald Estoc Entertainment LLC has technically been registered as a "business" since November 21st, 2023, I consider today, February 23, 2025 to be its official launch date. Again, as of now I don't have much to show for this company yet. All I really have right now is a disgustingly unfinished game, a mediocre web show, some photos I took a few months ago, and a blog no one will read. But I'm determined to build Emerald Estoc up into something truly great and impactful, even if it takes lots and lots and lots of time. What's my motivation, you may ask?
As far back as I can remember as a young kid, I was always fascinated with the artistic mediums I loved and how they worked; how they were made, what made the good ones "good", the bad ones "bad", how certain elements connect, that kind of thing, and as I continued that "aging" thing we humans do that interest only continued to increase as I realized due to my exposure to more creative works, specifically independent ones, that this was something I could actually do. I've learned over the years that independence is the truest form of power, that cutting your strings, those entangling ties that bind tightest, is the ultimate path to freedom and satisfaction, which I believe to be true in all walks of life.
That's why I founded Emerald Estoc Entertainment in the first place, to be the hub for my independent creative projects, and hopefully, to be the hub for the projects of other creatives in the future as well. To be a place where imagination becomes truth. To be a place where legends lead to change. To be the definitive center point for genuine works of human passion that the mainstream mocks, undervalues, and tries its damndest to replace and eradicate. A place that provides entertainment, fulfillment, and artistic excellence in an age where it's becoming harder and harder to tell real art apart from fake, a place completely free from the inherently oppressive and anti-artistic nature of the artificially generated slop that's infiltrating our creative fields at an alarming rate. That's what "Redefining Mediocrity" means to me, anyways.
I can’t promise great art. I can’t promise life changing art. But what I can promise is real art— by real artists. And that's gotta count for something, right?
